NEW Shake, Rattle and Roll Competition now LAUNCHED!
Resonate Testing Limited, in partnership with CCEA have launched the very first Shake, Rattle and Roll Challenge for students aged 14 -16.
What is the Shake, Rattle and Roll Challenge?
The Shake, Rattle & Roll Challenge is an exciting competition to engage students from Northern Ireland schools and colleges, providing a practical challenge to drive interest and understanding in STEM subjects and engineering. The challenge will inform students on the importance of testing in product development for structural integrity issues such as vibration, acoustics and strength.
The Challenge involves:
Students build a simple structure (based on competition rules). Resonate Testing Limited will then vibrate each structure using specialist testing equipment, for up to 15 minutes to see how long it survives the vibration testing – the longest wins!
And there is a fantastic prize on offer! The winning team will receive a trip to the UK Space Agency Headquarters in Harlow England and get a tour of the facilities.
In order to take part in this fantastic competition, please register before 21 October 2016.
Testing/Prize-giving will take place in the New Year – more information to follow.
More detailed information on the competition can be found by clicking here [pdf]
Students currently studying STEM subjects and Space Science Technology may benefit from taking part in the challenge as well as students interested in engineering.
