Shape & Shift >>> 2nd May
A new participatory sculpture to shape space and culture... by Tim Scrace
Shape & Shift, a new participatory sculpture by artist and architect Tim Scrace, launches at Salisbury Guildhall on Saturday 2nd May, inviting the community to shape both the work and the culture around it.
Be part of shaping the work - Visit, engage and share
Five years after This Too Will Pass captured public imagination on Salisbury High Street, this new work transforms those materials into a platform for action. Shape & Shift is a mobile installation designed to activate space — inviting people to take part, share ideas, and reimagine their city.
Formed of a series of connected sculptural pods representing Art, Architecture, and Community, the installation creates space to exhibit, make, and gather. It is not fixed — it evolves through use, shaped by the people who engage with it.
Coinciding with five years since the lifting of lockdown restrictions, the project marks a moment of transition — looking forward to collaboration, participation, and collective change.

Legacy ...
Following its launch, Shape & Shift will tour Salisbury, the wider region, and beyond. The installation will be used across exhibitions, workshops, and community-led activity.
At its core, it asks a simple but urgent question: what happens when people are given the tools to shape the spaces they inhabit?
Its message is clear — watch for change, get involved, and help shape both the sculpture and the culture around you.
