Sharing Place: Closing Event

The Glass-House Community Led Design is a national charity dedicated to connecting people with the design of their places, and connecting design with people. For over two decades, we have supported communities, organisations and networks to work collaboratively to shape buildings, spaces, homes and neighbourhoods.The Glass-House sees design not only as a tool for creating great places, but also as a way to connect people and empower them with enhanced confidence, skills and a greater sense of agency. We provide hands-on support and training, share knowledge and learning, and inspire new thinking and debate through action research, events and resources.

This online debate will bring together voices from across the Sharing Place programme to build on some of the key ideas and discussions.

Sharing Place - WEdesign Series 2024/25

WEdesign is The Glass-House’s annual series of free interactive public events, held online and in-person in cities across the UK, where we explore collaborative design in placemaking through discussion, debate and playful co-design activities.

Join us for the final event of the 2024/25 WEdesign season, an open and interactive online space that brings together voices from across the Sharing Place series of events. This discussion will feature reflections and provocations from event participants, programme partners, students, and contributors, building on key ideas and conversations from the series.Open to all, this session welcomes both those who have been part of the programme and newcomers alike. Together, we’ll extract key takeaways, share insights, and celebrate the innovative ideas that have emerged throughout the Sharing Place WEdesign series. The event will be chaired by The Glass-House Chief Executive, Sophia de Sousa. This is a free event but places are limited. Please register to secure your place. Please note:We will be capturing and sharing this event. During the event we will be recording video, taking screen-shots and live-tweeting to help us share the evening’s activities and our learning with others. Our Think Pieces bring together a series of blogs from a range of voices to explore the WEdesign series theme. WEdesign in-person events are safe spaces for diverse audiences to come together to explore challenging issues and to work collaboratively to generate ideas and solutions, co-designing propositions for changes to culture, policy and practice through hands-on making activities, discussion and debate. These events are co-facilitated by students from our WEdesign Student Programme, in collaboration with our partner universities in cities across the UK.
