Sharon MacArthur - Understanding Menopause - Why Everyone Should Care
Menopause affects everyone - at home, at work, and across teams. This workshop offers valuable insight for men too.
Workshop: Understanding Menopause - Why Everyone Should Care
Delivered by Sharon MacArthur, Miss Menopause
Menopause is often treated as a “women’s issue,” but the reality is: its impact is felt at home, in the workplace, and across teams. Miss Menopause provides inclusive menopause education for workplaces - covering symptoms, performance impacts, and how organisations support everyone going through this transition.
Important note: We’d love men to attend this workshop too. The topic offers real value for men both at home and at work. Whether as partners, fathers, colleagues or leaders, understanding menopause helps build empathy, strengthen support networks and improve team dynamics.
What the session covers
- What menopause & perimenopause actually are - and common symptoms to look out for.
- How menopause can affect performance at work (focus, memory, energy) and what managers/teams can do.
- Practical ways for workplaces to become menopause-aware and supportive - good for culture, retention and productivity.
- How men in business can be allies: recognising signs, fostering conversations and creating inclusive culture.
Why it matters for men too
- At home: Understanding enables better support for partners, family members or friends experiencing menopause.
- At work: Leaders and colleagues with this awareness can create more positive team environments, retain talent and reduce hidden absence.
- As peers: Being informed builds respect, improves communication and shifts culture away from stigma or ignorance.
Participants will leave with practical insights and tools to engage conversations, support others and make their workplace stronger.
