SHCG Conference Online: Emotion and Museums

Thursday 20 (13:00-17:00) and Thursday 27 June (13:30-17:40)

From grief to joy, from local pride to workers rights - join SHCG for two afternoons of online sessions on the theme of Emotion and Museums.

We'll be looking at emotions for ourselves as museum workers; with a keynote encouraging us to take more rest. We'll be hearing about how collaboration and co-creation can bring new emotions into museum exhibitions; and the emotions our collections can elicit when experienced by our audiences.

The conference will take place on Zoom.

All conference presentations will be live; with time for Q&A with presenters.

How does the organisational ticket work?

Organisational tickets entitle any number of staff from your organisation to attend the online conference. We will send the link to join to the contact who books the ticket, who can then share internally. If 4 or more people from you organisation want to attend, this ticket is cheaper!

SHCG is a registered charitable incorporated organisation with an elected committee of 12 trustees and a written constitution. Any member of SHCG is eligible to stand as a trustee and elections take place at our AGM, held as part of the annual conference. All trustees work on a voluntary basis and usually undertake a particular role.

To advance the education of the public in heritage, science and the arts advancing standards of social history curatorship by encouraging better care, management, research and development of collections and delivery of improved use, access and interpretation of museum and related collections through public-facing outputs such as events, exhibitions, participative projects for the benefit of the public.
