About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

In this seascape casting workshop you will be led through the techniques in pressing, casting and finishing your own shell casting piece ready to take home following the workshop.

Hazel Oliver started making imprint castings of her foraged and found elements creating small botanical and seascape tiles. In this workshop our inspiration is taken from the shores of Trebah Gardens’ beach using Hazel’s shell collections- or even bring your own ready to cast. Hazel will share with you the best techniques in order to create your own shell or seaweed casting in an eco resin; a plaster-like material.

Hazel Oliver is a Falmouth based artist known for her work exploring the use of reclaimed natural and recycled elements that she has foraged and collected from her local surroundings. She celebrates natural textures by combining her found and fallen elements into cast forms and vessels sculpted in eco resin.
