Being assertive is often a misunderstood quality, but it&#x27;s a skill we can all practice so that we can express our feelings, opinions and needs clearly and with empathy. It&#x27;s also about asserting your rights whilst respecting the feelings, beliefs and rights of others. So how can assertiveness improve our wellbeing? Being more assertive can significantly improve our mood, boost our self-esteem, reduce conflict in our lives and help us deal with stress more effectively. That&#x27;s why we have developed Assertiveness masterclasses to help you understand more about assertiveness, what level of &#x27;assertiveness&#x27; you are at and practical steps you can take to be more assertive, as part of the new update to the ShinyMind app.

Rebecca Howard - CEO and Founder, Shiny MindRebecca Howard FRSA is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, leadership psychotherapist, experienced psychotherapeutic Executive Coach and facilitator. Rebecca has over 17 years of experience working in leadership development in the NHS in the fields of mindset, authenticity, resilience, confidence, performance, self-compassion and change. Rebecca is also a Master Practitioner and certified trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and an expert identity coach and behavioural strategist who regularly coaches CEOs, board level directors and aspiring talent across the NHS through her Shine Bright Coaching Programmes to help them think differently, become more authentic and resilient, so they can be the best version of themselves.

Dannie-Lu Carr - Author, international assertiveness expert, coach and TED talk speakerDannie is a senior training consultant and executive coach who specialises in Communication, Personal Impact, Creativity and Women’s Leadership. She has been designing, developing and delivering training for over 20 years across a wide range of business, educational and charity sectors. In addition to this, Dannie is a published author, voiceover artist, singer/songwriter, actor and award-winning theatre director. She is a regular public speaker and guest panellist on a range of issues around women and the realities they face at work, in creative industries and in society. In 2020 she set up Flaming Leadership in response to the UN Sustainable Goal for Global Equality for all Women and Girls.
