It’s hard to remain joyous and free about the craft of screenwriting, if every time you sit down to write you can’t help but think about how every creative decision could impact potential production costs. In this workshop we will explore the beauty of simple ideas and their ability to create writing momentum. Since the writer is truly the film’s first actor, we will first discuss how to awaken our sense of play while writing and later we will each write a short script, based on a simple prompt, that we will try to act out with a scene partner.

Writing Ability: Suitable for ALL writing abilities: The short film screenplay produced during the workshops is not about quality but about awakening a sense of play.

What to bring: Notepad and pen/pencil.
