Simple Automaton Construction Workshop

Discover simple ways of producing mechanical movement.

ROAR

This is a one day workshop in the construction of simple automaton. You will discover ways of producing mechanical movement using cams, bearings and axles. The morning consists of an introduction to automaton and you will have the opportunity to build a classic muttering bird. In the afternoon you will design and construct your own automata.All materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring along interesting objects and curiosities that you think might lend themselves to movement.The cost is £35 for the day.No experience necessary.Tea and coffee will be available. ROAR Artspace studio is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
