A friendly space to meet, sew & share, guided by Lauren. Beginners & accompanied children 12 years + welcome. Bring your own sewing project.

Join us and enjoy a creative afternoon with like-minded people. Ask questions, share your ideas & tips, get inspiration for new projects.

Beginners welcome: have a go at making, mending or alterations with guidance from Lauren. Accompanied children 12 years+ welcome.

Bring your own sewing machine, or hire one of ours (suggested donation £5, email info@simplyrepair.org.uk to reserve a machine).

Register now - pay on the day!

Tickets minimum £5 donation. Sewing machine hire suggested £5 donation. Please bring cash.

We will provide:

  • advice and guidance as needed on your sewing projects
  • a sewing machine if you need to hire one (suggested donation £5, email info@simplyrepair.org.uk to reserve a machine)
  • iron and ironing board, cutting space
  • hot drinks and biscuits (organic and palm-oil free).

What to bring

  • your sewing project and all necessary fabrics, threads, yarns, etc.
  • your sewing machine if you have one (or email beforehand to hire one of ours)
  • your sewing kit

Being accessible and inclusive to everyone is important to us at Simply Repair. If you want to join us at any of our events but financial circumstances prevent this, please get in touch at info@ simplyrepair.org.uk so we can help. All requests are confidential, and we offer a no questions asked policy. We will do our best to accommodate but, in the event, where the workshop is already full, we can discuss future options.

Your host

Simply Repair Sewing Club is hosted by Lauren Davies, founder of Iron Keld Repairs, an outdoor gear repair service based in Kendal. She loves the outdoors, creativity and the environment, a real kindred spirit! Lauren is an inspiring and patient teacher, with plenty of skills, experience and creative ideas to share.
