This course is for educators who wish to discover how to design and deliver simulation-based education.

The course details

UHBW Simulation Services have a wide range of high fidelity simulators. This popular and unique course is specially designed for a small group of educators who wish to discover how to use simulators as teaching tools. You will be introduced to a range of adult and paediatric simulators, and the software packages provided by 2 different simulator manufacturers.

This is a two-day course and draws on the independent knowledge Bristol has gleaned from over 10 years course experience. During the course, faculty will be able to provide impartial opinions and advice during hands-on tutorial sessions which allow you to become more familiar with the simulators whilst learning how to construct and debrief a teaching session. Time will also be spent on scripting skills and small groups will be lead through the process of evolving course material.

• Technical set-up of simulation manikins

• Educational theory and the simulation cycle

• Scenario Design

• Scenario scripting

• Debriefing

Target audience: Healthcare professionals with an interest in simulation and teaching

Format: 2 day course, 8:30am - 16:30pm each day

Venue: UHBW Simulation Centre

Catering: Lunch and refreshments are provided. Please state any dietary requirements when booking.
