sIREN: Designing Interdisciplinary Research Projects

sIREN is the student-led Interdisciplinary REsearch Network of the University of Edinburgh founded by PhD students from Edinburgh College of Art.It aims to provide support and training for research students and staff for interdisciplinary research, as well as to create dialogue between several fields and promote new perceptions of research based on diverse methodological approaches.

This seminar workshop, the first out of the six that will be held during the academic year 2016/2017, will explore the theme of designing interdisciplinary research projects. It will invite four speakers from four different disciplines across the University of Edinburgh. Keynote speakers will present part of their own research activities related to methods, strategies and challenges when undertaking interdisciplinary research. The aim of the workshop is to enhance knowledge and skills and to open up the discussion to participants.

The event is free to attend but ticketed.
Coffee and tea will be provided.
