From the Basque Lands to the Scottish Highlands, and wherever the wind blows. With the help of her guitar and her trusty campervan Laura Silverstone has become the ultimate travelling troubadour. She left her childhood home in the Basque Country aged just 17 and started traveling the world and writing songs. Her travels have taken her busking and gigging in over 16 countries, she even lived on Skye for a while!
Her life on the road has shaped her personal and honest style of songwriting, telling stories about serendipity, about the people she encounters, herself and her misfortunes. But it’s her distinctive guitar playing style that has brought attention to her. In 2023 she showed the world her lap-tap guitar skills on the TV program Spain’s Got Talent, getting the golden buzzer and finishing the contest as a finalist. Since then, Silverstone has recorded a new album of original songs and she’s taking the road once again to share her stories with the world.
Imagine the lovechild of the gentleness of Joni Mitchell and the wit of Bruce Springsteen. Now imagine her better, with heartfelt lyrics and acoustic guitar work that could smash paprika, probably. With influences such as John Butler, Steph Strings, Ben Howard and Glen Hansard, Laura Silverstone combines modern folk textures with rock, soul, jazz and anything at hand, creating her own distinct musical blend. This, together with the force of her soulful vocals and powerful stage presence, has made her a must-see live act.
