EVENT POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICEYMCA Dulverton Group Sleep Easy 2020.Join us in sleeping rough for one night in Weston-super-Mare to raise money and awareness of homelessness in our communities.You can expect to join members of the YMCA team and other volunteers in the Italian Gardens where we will be in a dedicated Sleep Easy zone, which will be supervised by YMCA staff throughout the night. We will come together to build shelters from materials available to most rough sleepers such as cardboard and prepare to make our bed for the night as comfortable and warm as possible. Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own food as this will not be supplied.In 2019:• We reached over 12,000 young lives, through our early years provision, youth work, wellbeing and accommodation services • 400 young people accessed our training &amp; support hub • 65 young people were safely housed through Nightstop• 141 rough sleepers or vulnerable to rough sleeping clients were supported in North Somerset • 68 safe and affordable bed spaces created through the Somerset West Lodging Scheme• We have accommodated 350 young people at risk of being homeless in the last 12 monthsBy taking part, you are helping to raise funds which will enable us to continue to support vulnerable young people in our local communities.What to Bring:The weather is likely to be extremely cold so please dress sensibly. We recommend that you bring the following:• Warm sleeping bag • Blankets and a roll up mat • Warm clothing • Wear many layers of clothing and remember to pack thick socks and a woolly hatHow to Get to The Italian Gardens:Car: On street parking is free from 6pm till 8am the following day. The closest car parks to the Italian Gardens are the Sovereign Centre, Grove Park Car Park and Carlton Street. Please remember to check their opening and closing hours. Bus: Local and regional buses all operate within Weston-super-Mare. The nearest stop is on the Boulevard.Train: Weston-super-Mare is the closest for the Italian Gardens.
