About this event

Music • Indie

flöat is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist/songwriter, Heather Blore. Based in Nottingham, flöat has been releasing music since 2016 and meandering across the borders of various genres, namely lo-fi, folk, jazz-tinged indie pop/rock. While it is difficult to neatly fit flöat into a genre box, their music is always tied together by confessional, soul-bearing lyricism, soft vocals and twinkling, chorus-soaked guitars.

flöat’s sophomore album ‘Slug Party’ steps away from the brightness of indie pop debut ‘Medjool’ into a darker world, both sonically and thematically. ‘Slug Party’ draws aesthetic influence from a broader palette, including grunge, post-punk and folk rock, to meld an intense, heartfelt, surreal and thoroughly idiosyncratic body of work. Recorded at Summerhouse Recording Studios with Nottingham polymath, Cameron Worne.

flöat will be performing ‘Slug Party’ in full at Mist Rolling Inn on Friday 12th December 2025 with bandmates Dominic Brady (lead guitar), Olly Shaw (guitar/synth), Kieran Wells (bass) and Cameron Worne (drums).

Support comes from Emily Fay, the solo venture of multi-talented songwriter, whose other projects include alt-metal band Hystamine.

Also supported by PICT, the Nottingham post-folk five piece. The release of their dazzling debut EP ’The Way Home’ has met much acclaim. PICT have gained a reputation for the high-energy and eccentricity that they bring to their live performances.
