Small Supports

NHS Birmingham and Solihull CCG

Across Birmingham and Solihull, we are actively developing a market which includes locally-grown organisations offering "small supports".

Across Birmingham and Solihull organisations are looking at how they can best support people with learning disabilities and autism who have complex needs and are placed in, or risk being placed in, secure settings away from their families and communities. 
Work will continue with existing providers to develop the services they offer to ensure they are personalised and tailored to individuals needs and aspirations; however, the next exciting stage is developing a range of small, community-based highly-skilled local organisations who offer individualised, individually commissioned services. These are called ‘small supports’. 
Locally, the ambition is to increase the choice of providers of this type of care and promote the opportunity to local people to set up and run their own small, support organisations. These will offer support which is “bespoke” to each individual and centred around their needs and their life in the community, which may include work, volunteering, having friends and contributing to their community as citizens.
If you would like to attend one of our informal drop in sessions to discover more, please register your interest below. There is no cost to attend and registration is not compulsory. 
This event will take place at a venue to be confirmed in Birmingham city centre.
