<p>We would like to invite colleagues to the next Smart Data Research UK Strategic Advice Team workshop to explore the challenges and opportunities in Smart Data. This workshop will focus on Smart Data for UK policy and practice. In this workshop, we will explore a broad range of perspectives around policymaking for Smart Data in the UK:</p><p>What are the needs and demands of different groups? What are possibilities for research and future directions in this space?</p>

This talk offers a brief introduction to the work of the ESRC’s Public Policy and Engagement Team, including a highlighted selection of the activities it funds to strengthen the relationships between research and policy communities in order to support effective evidence-based public policy. Daniel’s role at ESRC focuses on enabling research in economics and social sciences to contribute towards addressing major societal challenges by improving engagement with policy makers and practitioners in government and the third sector.
Daniel Robinson is Strategic Lead for Policy Partnerships and Impact at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
