Smart Imaging 2026
Step into the future of scientific exploration, where advanced imaging, analysis, automation and AI combine to obtain data more efficiently.
This workshop is articulated in two parts: A general introduction and lecture in the morning and hands-on sessions in the late morning & afternoon.
The general introduction will cover the following topics (9:00-11:15, at the D-BSSE room D65.2). Please note that for the morning only, registration is not required.
- General introduction on Feedback/Smart Microscopy
- Guest lecture by Lucien Hinderling (University of Bern)
- Examples of Smart Imaging workflows
- Demo
In the hands-on sessions, participants will work on small feedback microscopy workflows, using the Nikon JOBS simulator. It will take place at the D-BSSE in room D13.
- Basic intro to NIS-Elements and JOBS (11:30-12:30)
- Practical hands-on using JOBS (13:30-17:00)
Please note:
- For participation in the hands-on session, registration is required, and the presence in the theory sessions is mandatory. Prior experience with NIS-Elements/JOBS is a plus.
- Registration with a professional email address is mandatory (e.g., @unibas.ch, @fmi.ch, @iob.ch, @psi.ch, @ethz.ch).
- The hands-on session is free of charge; however, a no-show fee of 50 CHF will apply if you do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
- We kindly ask that you attend the full hands-on sessions if you register.
