About this event

So you want to be a National Teaching Fellow?

This session offers an introduction to the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS). The NTFS recognises individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession, and is the UK’s most prestigious award for teaching excellence in Higher Education. This session introduces the three NTF criteria (1) Individual excellence, (2) Raising the profile of excellence, and (3) Developing excellence and explores how each must be evidenced through Reach, Value and Impact. Drawing on real examples and AdvanceHE feedback, the session will unpack what makes a compelling and persuasive narrative across the three criteria, what kinds of qualitative and quantitative evidence are needed to demonstrate impact, and how to avoid common pitfalls. The session will also outline the internal Expression of Interest and selection process at Portsmouth, helping colleagues consider if now is the time to put themselves forward.
