Soap making workshop: level 2 getting creative with your soap!

We’re on a mission to turn Edinburgh into a Zero Waste Town and we’d like you to be part of it.Over the next 2 years, we’ll be working with the 36,000 residents, business owners and students in the southside of Edinburgh’s Old Town to establish long-lasting strategies to reduce waste.Zero Waste Edinburgh is a project coordinated by the Shrub Coop, funded by Zero Waste Scotland and theEuropean Regional Development Fund until March 2020.

<p><strong>Wednesday 20th November: </strong>Soap making workshop:  level 2 getting creative with your soap!</p><p><strong>*IMPORTANT: Please note that in order to attend this workshop, you must have either attended the </strong><a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/soap-making-workshop-level-1-making-a-basic-soap-tickets-77282573257" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong>&#x27;Soap making level 1&#x27;</strong></a><strong> workshop or have a good basic knowledge of the process of soap making.*</strong></p><p>In this follow on workshop from &#x27;Soap making level 1&#x27;, you&#x27;ll learn more advanced techniques in how to make a luxurious, nutritious soap using different types of fats and essential oils. Our skilled facilitator will guide you through the process in small groups and will be on hand to answer any questions you have. At the end you&#x27;ll get to take away your very own luxury soap bar! </p><p>Please bring along your own mold of choice (such as a silicone mold from a home crafts store such as Ali&#x27;s Cave or a clean plastic container such as an old butter tub or soft cheese tub). The mold should be max. 8-10cm in diameter. Don&#x27;t worry if you can&#x27;t find a mold of your own - we will have some spare ones at the workshop. Please also note that you will need to keep the soap (in its mold) flat when you transport it home, so you need a suitable bag to carry it (or be able to just carry it by hand). </p><p>Workshops will be held in our fabulous Zero Waste Hub in central Edinburgh and will have a maximum of 12 participants. </p><p>Our Home Crafting Workshops, facilitated by a skilled volunteer, will teach you how to make products such as soap, kefir and cheese from scratch and with a zero waste focus. The workshops will be fully interactive, encouraging you to get involved with the process and have lots of fun! You&#x27;ll come away with your own creation and a new skill!</p><h3>Tickets:</h3><p><strong>£7 </strong>(SHRUB Coop members <strong>£5</strong>)</p><h3>Refund Policy</h3><p>1 day: Attendees can receive refunds up to 1 day before the event start date.</p><h3>Accessibility information:</h3><p>The Zero Waste Hub is on ground floor with a wheelchair accessible entrance, accessible and gender neutral toilet. There are disabled parking bays on both parallel streets, East Fountainbridge and Grindlay Street.
