Playwright and scriptwriter Nicola Baldwin is PPI Coordinator for Precision AMR, and co-director of Rise Of The Resistance with Dr Elaine Cloutman-Green. Their healthcare science theatre collaboration NOSOCOMIAL, stages site specific performances, theatre shows for adults and children, and inter-disciplinary  conferences and events.Nosocomialwon the 2019 'Partnering Patients and Citizens CSO Award' from the Chief Scientific Officer of NHS England, and will be adapted as an immersive production for 2021. Nicola was an inaugural UCL Creative Fellow at UCL Urban Lab 2019-20; a pilot programme to encourage collaboration and experimentation between researchers, students and creative practitioners, and develop new audiences for research and learning.Her theatre work includes  commissions or productions with Royal Exchange, Sheffield Crucible, Royal Court Theatre, National Theatre Education, Unicorn and the egg at Bath. Science-based plays for young people includeThe GiftandMRS X.(on AMR) for Theatre of Debate and Science Museum, and a series of short films for the Wellcome Genome Campus.Radio plays includeEuston  to Whitechapel, The Crisis of Wallis SimpsonandTony and Rosefor Radio 4, andSeven Scenesfor Radio 3.  Her work has won the George Devine award, Time Out award and twice been shortlisted for Susan Smith Blackburn and BBC Audio Awards. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Nicola was a camera operator and she still works as a director of short films.She was Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellow at the University of Greenwich, Associate Lecturer in screenwriting at Drama Centre/ CSM and is currently Showcase Fellow for the RLF , and a Visiting Fellow at UCL IAS.  She is a  2020 MGCfutures bursary recipient for her playWoman From Marsand under commission to Radio 4 for a new, two-part thriller drama.

Meet Sock, the puppet. Sock is excited to go and sing for the children in Hospital with Ms Clown. Sock loves the Hospital. It is always clean and tidy.The children love Sock’s singing. All the children hug Sock.When Sock catches all the bugs that make the children poorly, Sock has an adventure to the cleanest, tidiest place in the whole Hospital: The Laboratory.Can you help Sock find a way back to Ms Clown and the children?Join us to celebrate Healthcare Science Week 2021 with the story of Sock, narrated live on zoom by Stephanie Houtman (Peppa Pig Live), directed by Saskia Marland with special appearances by Sock. She is also co-artistic director of the theatre company Urban Foxes Collective. She has had her work performed at various theatres including The Salisbury Playhouse, The Cambridge Junction and The Camden Peoples Theatre. Saskia works regularly with young people designing and delivering programs and workshops in museums, schools and youth theatres. Stephanie Houtman studied BA Acting at The Manchester Met School of Theatre, following which she represented the school as the Spotlight Prize nominee. Since graduating she‘s worked as a professional Voice Actor and made her West End debut voicing and puppeteering 'Peppa' in 'Peppa Pig Live'. Stephanie is now due to appear in a new BBC comedy series.
