<a href="https://soilassembly.net/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Soil Assembly</a> is a series of international gatherings of artists, designers, curators, architects, educators, activists, farmers and hackers supporing the freedom of exchange and sharing of knowledge. Soil Assembly nurtures active dissemination of a humanistic/biodiverse/holistic approach within notions of food growing practices, more-than-human correlations in these practices and life, as well as the freedom of movement for plants, animals, humans, algae, fungi and seeds.We intend to subscribe to the essential convictions that our life on this planet is symbiotically linked to its food resources and its biodiversity, from the tree tops to the deepest groundwater or ocean surface water sufficiently exposed to sunlight.The first assumption of the Soil Assembly is that most human interactions depend on the 20 cm surface thickness of humus so that it is imperative to nurture back the healing balance between human/more-than-human interests so we, humans, do not become aliens to the planetary holobiont.DateThu 11 May 2:30–5pm London time (BST)Programme2:30–3:30pmPresentations by curators Meena Vari and Rustam Vania (Srishti, India), Maya Minder (Hackteria, CH), Ewen Chardronnet (Makery, France), Rob La Frenais (France), as well as members of the Ecological Futurisms collective George Clark (Jataiwangi Art Factory &amp; Motherbank, Indonesia) and Neal White, with further speakers TBC.3:30–4pm: Panel discussion4–5pm: ForumAddressPortland HallUniversity of Westminster4–12 Little Titchfield StreetLondon W1W 7BYTube: Oxford Circus, Goodge StreetCover image: Soil Assembly at Kochi-Muziris Biennale, India.
