<p>Advancement in a future data model for the Internet that decentralizes authority and redistributes it to people by giving them increased control over who with and how their personal data is shared; provides a range of new commercial opportunities, where currently viable business models are being tested. The Solid Project is the driver for this advancement of web standards.</p><p></p><h3>What&#x27;s it like to develop with Solid and where do you start?</h3><p>W﻿e hear from three <a href="https://www.inrupt.com/event/solid-hackathon/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Inrupt Hackathon submissions</a> about their experiences of developing with Solid and what they produced to either help solve an identified problem or create totally new experiences for data sharing. Consumers have little to no choice and information about what happens to their data. Papayaverse is a project to solve this problem with the creation of a data bank. We use Solid Pods to store consumer data on the end of the user, allowing them to manage their consent and preferences for multiple sites in one place, and monetize their data via our NFT third-party data sharing platform, which allows users to share their data with companies and be compensated for the same. Using the blockchain for this purpose also results in the additional benefit of transparency and accountability in data transactions. In this talk, I will go further into the technical details of the Papayaverse project and talk a bit more about my experience at the Solid Hackathon and working with Inrupt&#x27;s client libraries to implement key functionalities.</p><p></p><h3>Maxime Lecoq-Gaillard (Inria, Université Côte d&#x27;Azur / Inrupt Hackathon Submission)</h3><p><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxime-lecoq-227331236/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxime-lecoq-227331236/</a></p><p>Solid-indexer is an agent able to populate a TypeIndex based on the data present in a pod. This can be useful for data created manually, or created by an application that does not take care of indexing the data it creates. This agent could also be used by a developer to delegate the indexing process.</p><p></p><h3>Jose &amp; Tanmay (BuyWatch / Inrupt Hackathon Submission)</h3><p><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanmay-kaushik/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanmay-kaushik/</a></p><p>BuyWatch is a platform based on SOLID protocol that allows micropayments via web monetization API for media content distribution. The users can pay for specific file access. The platform&#x27;s goal is to change the way people consume digital and media content based on the way they pay for it and how it is stored along the Internet. As one of the core concepts of SOLID, we are also interested in the interoperability and integration with other existing SOLID Apps. BuyWatch, as a global index, could have the capability and scalability to import massive Linked Data or catalogues to extend the DB of the system with well-known sources like MusicBrainz and allow apps to link content from it.
