SONIC HIDE & SEEK : Workshop

BEEF is a film and sound collective supporting experimental practice in Bristol.BEEF provides an independent platform for artists’ production, distribution and critical engagement, often focusing on analogue practices. BEEF’s members are artists, curators and researchers organising a regular programme of events, exhibitions, film & sound workshops and screenings.Our current residence is at The Brunswick Club, 15-16 Brunswick Square, Bristol BS2 8NX.

<H3>SONIC HIDE & SEEK : Workshop</H3>
Make an experimental sound piece.
This sound-oriented workshop will be a day-long, hands-on opportunity for making, learning and discussion. We’ll be investigating the relocation of sound and extended listening practices within the spaces and fabric of the old Brunswick Club building.
Participants will:  
>Use sound recording devices & microphones designed to pick up sound through different materials 
>Explore recording in different spaces in and outside our building
>Create temporary sound installations using a variety of speakers and transducers
The workshop is led by <A HREF="http://www.beefbristol.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">BEEF</A> members <A HREF="http://www.shirleypegna.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Shirley Pegna</A> and <A HREF="http://melanieclifford.net/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Melanie Clifford</A>, artists whose interdisciplinary practices concern space, sound, music, moving image, broadcast and landscape. 
The Brunswick Club in central Bristol is the temporary home of a new and exciting experimental group of artists' collectives, whose ethos of exploration and ‘can-do’ approach to art work will permeate this workshop day. 
£40 / £30 concs. Limited places 
All materials and tea and coffee will be provided.
