Sounding Line – In Conversation with Mella Shaw and Patrick Miller
Overview
Mella Shaw is an artist and environmental activist using themes of balance, fragility and loss to raise awareness and inspire change. Sounding Line is an immersive ceramic installation and film that highlights the devastating effect of marine sound and sonar pollution on whale species.
Patrick Miller is a professor of biology in the Sea Mammal Research Unit at the University of St Andrews focusing on the communication and behaviour of marine mammals. He has worked extensively on how underwater noise affects whale and dolphin species.
