The Goethe-Institut London promotes international cultural cooperation by organising a broad variety of events to present German culture.We offer workshops and training seminars for teachers of German as a second language. Learning about German life and culture is an integral part of our language courses, and we also provide an extensive examination programme.The Library of the Goethe-Institut London serves as a resource for those interested in contemporary Germany, and for those interested in teaching and studying German as a foreign language. More than 20,000 books, videos, audio-cassettes and computer software are available.

Ever wondered what a qubit sounds like?Join us at the Goethe-Institut London for a performance and book launch by Professor Eduardo Miranda, editor of “Quantum Computer Music: Foundations, Methods and Advanced Concepts”. Computers have evolved to become an essential part of the music industry: in the last century, musical composition, instrumentation, distribution and consumption have all been impacted by advances in computer technology.  Quantum computing offers the potential for a further technological leap. As this new era of computing looms, we want to consider the ways that technological developments may impact and disrupt the music industry. Mirandas book introduces the fundamentals of quantum computing for musicians and the latest developments by pioneering practitioners.  At events in Berlin, Dublin San Francisco, Beijing and London, the Goethe-Institut’s “Living in a Quantum State” will engage audiences around the world in debates and ask important ethical and ecological questions about quantum computing.
