About this event
Source Creativity - a workshop exploring creativity that springs from stillness.
-
Creativity is something society holds in such high regard. But there's often this belief that it just happens - ie someone is just a good singer, a natural writer or has a unique talent that is great for them but what about the rest of us?
This workshop is here to break down conditioned beliefs about what creativity is, what a creative person looks like and how we access this gold dust, ethereal and magical thing called creativity that can sometimes feel like trying to catch mist in our hands.
-
Source Creativity is more of a retreat from the world than a 'workshop'.
The mysteries of the dark moon and the dark of Winter invite us to get quiet and still so we can cocoon, nourish, replenish and listen deeply to the next phase of our life.
This 6 hour experience will support you to drop into a place of deep stillness.
The intention is for you to feel resourced and nourished by our time together, accessing a place of internal quiet so you can hear the whispers of your own creativity.
-
There is no expectation to 'create' or 'make' anything. This is an invitation to get CURIOUS about what can emerge from the fertile dark place that lives inside of all of us. The place that is rich with nutrients, where the seed is germinating but we just can't see it yet.
Whether you're an artist, a writer or don't define as a creative person at all, you are welcome to drop in - become still and see what illuminates.
-
What to expect:
- Movement - dancing and embodiment practices to stir up our bodies and souls, regulate and relax the nervous system, feel our emotions, shift our perceptions and access new states of awareness.
- Meditation - internal reflection practices to meet the still place inside of us. The place that is calm, quiet and rich with inspiration.
- Community connection - a group of likeminded individuals where intentional conversation, sharing and group connection exercises will help you to feel nourished and inspired.
- Creative expression - group practices to explore and access your creativity. You will also have ample time for solo creative expression.
- A spacious schedule - a relaxed and slow experience where you are invited to move at your own pace and listen to your body and needs. We'll cover a lot of ground but we won't be rushing through a lot of content or teching. There will be a break for lunch and teas, coffee and sweet treats and possibly some time on the land (weather dependent).
