About this event

If the benefits of eating sourdough bread are numerous, the joy of making it is even greater. Join our class and let our bakers help demystify this exciting heritage bread making process. In this class we will show you how to make your own starter and then make your own sourdough bread, learning to perfect the crust and crumb, taste and texture of your bread using the short fermentation method. We keep the class small to ensure that you are given the best tuition possible. Nibbles, a light lunch and soft drinks are included in the day.

Bread making is an experience everyone can enjoy and we’ll help you develop your own style and say ‘no’ to store bought bread for ever. Working with our experienced instructors, you will leave with a sense of accomplishment and more importantly, your own freshly made bread to share with family and friends.

Greenwich Pantry is a family run food boutique and cookery school for kids and adults, beginner or advanced. From bread making to fish filleting there’s a class for all ages! Learn with friends and family, celebrate a special occasion with your own private cooking party or join a group class.

At Greenwich Pantry each cooking class has its character and characters. Our friendly and welcoming team are always on hand to help participants through every aspect of the class. It is our absolute pleasure to host curious, lively people who love cooking, eating, making good conversation at the table.

Chopping, slicing, mixing, and sometimes crafting through the chitter chatter. Cooing over colourful vegetables, a comforting backdrop as participants learn to make homely, heartwarming dishes. We debate the vices and virtues of cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients or buying ready meals to save time and money. Around the table, there's lots to talk about. We don't quite get to put the world at ease about its food conundrums because as the aroma and smells of food hits home, tastebuds are prepped and rhythmic munching takes over. With stomachs filled, everyone leaves satisfied but of course, someone gets the washing up:!Cook and Eat workshops are hosted by the Cook and Eat team at Greenwich Pantry. Our classes and workshops are perfect as gifts for foodies and everyone with a keen sense of discovery including absolute beginners who want to learn the basics of eating well and cooking good food in a relaxed setting.

If cooking is not your thing, try ordering a food gift hamper, an eclectic mix of rice dishes from the riceBoutique menu or book your place at one of our supper clubs to celebrate the dawning of spring and summer,

See you there!
