South Cumbria and North Lancashire IOSH Branch are honoured to welcome Richard Bate, IOSH President Elect. Please come along and take this opportunity to meet the next President of the Chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.

Richard considers himself a global citizen, with over 30 years’ experience, thriving as an OSH consultant in the high-pressure environment of sports, live music and entertainment. An advocate of OSH as a first career. He is committed to a socially sustainable-driven approach to OSH, diversity, equity and the elimination of harm globally. He also advocates the positive value of volunteering and continuous professional development.

Falls from height remain one of the leading causes of serious injuries and fatalities in the workplace.

In this session, IOSH President Elect, Richard Bate, will provide a clear guide to working at height safely, covering good practice, duty of care and legal requirements, common mistakes using real life examples. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to assess risks, implement safe systems of work and to prevent falls and incidents.
