Acknowledged as an area of excellence by OFSTED in 2018, “… as a result of the school’s extensive business links, all students found places in education, employment or training when they left”, South Devon UTC is proud to celebrate our outstanding connection with local organisations and Exeter University and invite you to meet with our students and partners on the 28th of November from 5pm to 7pm. With an emphasis on employability, professionalism and collaboration, employers are becoming increasingly involved in the work that we do to prepare young people for employment and further training and have enabled the college to celebrate a breadth of high quality and progressive destinations for our leavers. Join us for an informative and exciting evening of innovation and exploration and engage in our programme of "Progression" workshops: Workshop 1: Meet our Employer and University Partners. Engage with our Student AmbassadorsWorkshop 2: Nutritional inspiration to Motivate and Learn ‘Marine in 15’ , Colour Sergeant Mike Beaton Royal Marines, talks to students about the variety of options that are available in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines using the platform of food and nutrition to inspire, and motivate while learning to cook healthy nutritious meals as part of your fitness and wellbeing programme.Workshop 3: Industry-standard Curriculum Learning Observe the Year 12/13 BTec Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma Fluid Power Workshops delivered by experts from the Royal navy using industry-standard simulation software and test rigs as our students design and test ship steering gear systems and aircraft undercarriage landing systems typical of those they may well work on in their engineering careers, putting the syllabus into a very real and practical context. Workshop 4: Student Journey Degree and Higher Level Apprentices and Exeter University under-graduates share their UTC journey towards outstanding career outcomes.
