Join us for a fun-filled morning with SPACE at the University of Hertfordshire, De Havilland campus, Mosquito Way, Hatfield, AL10 9UF.First Steps is an interactive workshop tailored for professionals who work with children aged 0 to 5 years, specifically those diagnosed with or on the pathway to a diagnosis of Autism. While the workshop primarily focuses on supporting children with such diagnoses, it also offers valuable insights for all EYFS staff, enabling them to better address the needs and behaviours of young children in their care.First Steps is family-centred, offering support with the following outcomes:• Understanding neurodiversity• Understanding sensory needs• Understanding communication differences and preferences• Supporting and modelling interactions, inventions, and strategies• Understanding and supporting behaviour• Supporting and promoting independence skills. Information for the day:Please meet at 9:45pm outside the entrance of Hertfordshire Sports VillageA HSP member of staff will walk you to the training room.Please wear comfortable clothing. Parking:At the University of Hertfordshire, we use Hozah, which makes paying for parking quick, easy, and convenient.https://hozah.com/uhparking/The first two hours of your stay on campus are free, and you will only be charged £2 for each day that you are on campus.If you have any questions please contact us at earlyyears@herts.ac.uk or 01707 284229
