This is a wonderful opportunity for Spanish language learners to explore Hispanic literature in a friendly and welcoming environment, tailored to your level.

We’ll discuss a selection of articles on motherhood, ranging from the extraordinary historical case of a mother who attempted to create the ideal child to reflections on the mothers of notable figures, the paradoxes of unconditional love, and personal memories that question traditional notions of what it means to be a mother.

This session is ideal for intermediate students (B2+).

The reading group is led by Luz Comendador (librarian), with academic support from Ana Valbuena (teacher at the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester).

Suitable for intermediate students: at B2+

Participants will receive the texts from our library so they can read them in advance.

El Club de Lectura para Estudiantes de Español es una actividad dirigida a lectores no nativos de español que deseen iniciarse gradualmente en las literaturas hispanas y encontrar un espacio amable y distendido de conversación adaptado a su nivel.

Los textos, originalmente escritos en español, están seleccionados de acuerdo con el nivel de aprendizaje.

📖 En la sesión de marzo, comentaremos varios artículos de prensa que abordan la maternidad desde distintos puntos de vista: desde el intento de una madre de crear la hija perfecta a un recorrido sobre las madres de grandes figura de la historia, la paradoja del amor incondicional o memorias personales que cuestionan la noción de qué significa ser madre.



La moderación del club está a cargo de Luz Comendador (bibliotecaria), con la coordinación académica de Ana Valbuena (profesora del Instituto Cervantes de Manchester)

Actividad en español.

Nivel Intermedio (B2+)

Los textos serán proporcionados a los inscritos en la actividad por nuestra biblioteca para que puedan leerlos con antelación.
