How can we work together to grow the green and social economy in Torbay?Please join us on the morning of Saturday 17th June as we try to come up with answers, together.We'll hear from Chris Gunson and others from <a href="https://localsparktorbay.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Local Spark</a> share their plans for sparking regenerative enterprise, building networks, and co-creating community resilience. This includes the People's Parkfield, Torbay Social Enterprise Network, hackathons and communities of dragons, and more.It will be energising, inspiring and productive. We'll be joined by Manda Brookman, who is one of the most creative innovators working for community-led change in this country. She ran the first Doughnut Hack in Cornwall and is the catalyst for One Planet Tourism. She's also making change within the healthcare system! Living and working in Cornwall, she's learned a lot that is relevant for us in Torbay. (And vice versa!) If you can't make it, please spread the word about this to your network.Most importantly, we'll partcipate together in an innovative 'open space' session where we can collaboratively explore topics that will help us take a step forward toward growing the green and social economy in Torbay. We'll learn what we need to learn, meet who we need to meet. We'll spark new ideas for supporting existing social enterprise and for generating new ones.Can we create more good jobs for our young people? Is 'eco-tourism' a viable strategy? Will bottom up, community-led regeneration make our lives better?Please bring your ideas and your love for our beautiful communities.Refreshments and snacks will be available.This event is delivered with funding from the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund.
