Event description
Your favorite fanzine is bringing you another weekend of the music you love!

About this event

Speakeasy: Volume Two image

After the success in December of Volume One of the Speakeasy Festival, we are back in September for Speakeasy Festival Volume Two with headline performances from The Primitives and The Frank and Walters, plus sets from Cud, Apollo Junction, Space Monkeys, as well as a reformed Linoleum playing live for the first time in over 20 years!

Popular indie music fanzine, Speakeasy, take over the award-winning Bucks Students’ Union with a specially curated weekend of music and community, featuring your favorite bands from the halcyon days of the ‘80s and ‘90s to the best of the new crop!

Across two days, Saturday 17 September and Sunday 18 September 2022, we welcome seventeen acts including Helen Love, Bugeye, The Kynd, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Shader, Mat Flint (Revolver), Matt James (Gene) and more across two stages and close the Saturday night with an indie disco afterparty with Speakeasy DJs. All that plus smokehouse barbeque and vegan/vegetarian food vendors, merch stalls, a themed cocktail bar, and a range of specialist beers and lagers.

The entire weekend is just £35 if you get tickets early…do not miss out!

Last year SPACE and The Real People headlined the event, which also featured performances from My Life Story, Thousand Yard Stare, and The Institutes, with Louise Wener from Sleeper taking the stage and closing the Saturday night with a guest DJ slot playing a set of indie classics.

Bucks Students’ Union has won awards for its live music provision (with a state-of-the-art PA system designed and installed by the same team as the Albert Hall!) alongside holding the national Platinum ‘Best Bar None’ accreditation for corporate social responsibility, customer care, and safety. The venue is fully accessible, offers free parking, and is situated in the town centre just minutes from a range of reasonably priced hotels.
