Event description

Description

Join us for the evening and find out about the Speaking Out young people's learning resource!

This resource is intended for use in secondary schools and within youth organisations to engage young people with the themes of gender inequality, violence against women and girls and domestic abuse, activism and the history of Women's Aid in Scotland. The resource has been designed to tie in with the Modern Studies curriculum and uses oral history interviews and other primary source material gathered by the Speaking Out project to bring the story of the Women's Aid movement in Scotland to life.

The learning resource will be free to download from the Speaking Out website from 29 August. www.speakingout.womenslibrary.org.uk

During the evening you'll have a chance to find out more about the Speaking Out project, the various components of the learning resource, take part in suggested resource activities, ask LOTS of questions and have a wee glass of wine (or juice) and a nibble.

The Speaking Out project is a partnership between Scottish Women's Aid, Glasgow Women's Library, Women's History Scotland and the University of Glasgow Centre for Gender History. Speaking Out is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

If you have any special dietary requirements or accessibility needs please contact Emma Gascoigne.

If you would like to attend please RSVP using the green registration button above by 22 August. If you have any questions about the event please contact Emma Gascoigne.
