Speaking with Confidence practical workshop
Tue 28 March 2017, 10:00 – 12:30 BST
Speaking with Confidence
Being able to confidently speak in front of others at any occasion is a really useful skill to have in your toolbox. But many people fear it and, if statistics are to be believed, rate it above death in a list of things they are scared of!
For many, having to speak in front of others is part of their job or business; it maybe to the public or to colleagues. Some people rise to the challenge and others do all they can to avoid doing it. But what if you could confidently present anything in front of others? What would it do for your self esteem? What would it do for your business if only you could overcome your reticence? How proud would you feel about yourself?
In today's world, you may think that public speaking is a dying art because nobody presents to real people anymore, all our communication is online. But actually, the same skills are transferable to producing a great online video or running a webinar where you could have hundreds of people tuning in or promoting yourself via one of the many "live" social media features where you have no idea who you're going to be talking to and you never know when that invitation to be best man or woman is going to drop through the post!
What would your life or business be like if you could just overcome that fear?

Stephanie Taylor is your facilitator for the workshop.
Stephanie has been speaking in public since childhood when she felt at her most self conscious and saw it as an ordeal. As an adult, she learned to turn her fears around and actually enjoy being centre stage by not eliminating the nerves completely but channelling them into excitement.
Throughout her very varied career, she has presented in front of high powered military officers as well as large groups of airmen and airwomen, gently coached many shy students to stand in front of a class and teach exercise and helped many direct sales reps to stand in front of a room to give a sales presentation.
Her largest audience was to just over 1600 people at a conference at Wembley where she admits her knees were still shaking and her heart was crashing through her chest!
Her latest challenge is to put her speaking skills on the line by entering speaking competitions. Relax in her company and let her draw out the confident speaker inside you.
There will be a tea / coffee station available and attendees will have access to unlimited tea / coffee throughout the morning for £3
