Can I bring my dog to this workshop?

Unfortunately this workshop is not suitable for dogs. Please keep an eye out for future dog-friendly events on our website and Eventbrite page.

Question 2

Is this workshop suitable for children?

Accepted Answer

The content of this course is aimed at adults, however if you have a child over 10 years old who is particularly interested in spiders and wants to learn more then they are welcome to come along (all children must be accompanied by an adult).

Are there toilets?

Accepted Answer

There are toilets at the Ashdown Forest Centre where the first part of the workshop is held, the afternoon practical aspect is held on The Forest, where there are no toilet facilities.

Question 4

Can I buy lunch at The Ashdown Forest Centre?

Accepted Answer

We do not sell lunches at the Ashdown Forest Centre (only teas, coffees and cake), so please bring a packed lunch.

Question 5

Is this workshop wheelchair friendly?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately due to the uneven terrain on Ashdown Forest, the afternoon practical aspect of the course is not suitable for wheelchairs. If you would like to only attend the morning session which is held in the Ashdown Forest Centre please contact us.

Question 6

What will happen if it rains?

Accepted Answer

Spiders do not like to come out in very wet or windy conditions. In the event of bad weather we will rearrange to Friday 20th September. Please check your emails before travelling to the event - all participants will be contacted by email by 8am on the day of the event if we need to cancel.

Question 7

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

As with any walk across Ashdown Forest the paths will be uneven in places and there will be hills. Sturdy boots or wellies are a must. Please note we are also likely to walk through areas where ticks may be present so long trousers should be worn. Please make sure you bring plenty of water/snacks.
