Chris Oldroyd, our speaker for the day:

After leading a group of property companies and serving as an Army Reservist for 29 years, Chris was ordained in 1985. He has a track record of starting bi-monthly training and celebration events which attracted a large number from across the South of England. These led many to grow in faith, spiritual gifts and ministry. He was for some time Alpha rep for the southeast.

Aside from parish ministry he and his wife Fran and their two children moved to plant a church, initially with Bishop David Pytches as their reference point. The church has grown from two people to over 300 and became the first in the UK to be adopted as a Vineyard Church. Many came to know the Lord, were empowered by His Spirit, trained and sent out on missions in the UK and abroad to plant churches.

Chris gave up leadership of the church in 2002 to return to Anglican ministry and to continue mentoring church leaders throughout the UK and abroad. He spent some time rebuilding an ailing city church which is now flourishing. Chris is involved with a local parish and is a ReSource minister with resourcingrenewal.org, a national renewal organization. He has had the privilege of seeing God save, heal and empower many hundreds of people and rejoices to see Him continue to do so.
