Embrace the opportunity to learn to carve your own wooden spoon in gorgeous surroundings. Steve will share with you his many years of carving experience and knowledge of the tools and materials to use. You'll learn a range of cutting techniques using an axe, a sloyd knife and a crook knife, allowing you to create your own wooden spoon efficiently and safely.
The experience is suitable for all abilities and is a guaranteed relaxing and satisfying day learning a fantastic new skill.
You'll leave with the skills to be able to practice what you've learnt on your own and of course, you'll take home your own wooden spoon to add to your kitchen collection! There's nothing like eating a nice bowl of porridge or a home-cooked stew with a spoon that you've hand carved yourself or alternatively, give it away as a special and memorable gift.
The course is hosted in complete tranquility within our woodland in the Brecon Beacons. We lay on all the campfire tea and coffee you can drink and provide snacks. Please bring your own lunch (which you are welcome to cook over the fire) and some sturdy shoes.
