Jon Mac.I live with my wife, Sarah, in the SouthWest of England, not far from Dartmoor National Park.I’m a keen hillwalker and served with our local Mountain Rescue team for 7 years during the last century.I’ve been carving for ten years or so. I decided at the beginning of my carving journey to limit myself to a small amount of caving tools. Tools that one might find useful at camp.I settled on Axe, knife and hook knife. Over the years I have taught myself to carve spoons, Ale hens and Kuksa. I have designed knives for carving along with general purpose Bushcraft knives. I enjoy passing on these carving skills to beginners, and teach when I can. I am presently concentrating on improving my chip carving and developing my Dragon Kuksa design. Join Jon Mac for a day's instruction in carving a more complex wooden spoon. If you are already somewhere along the road to being a spooncarver this is the course for you. Jon is a well respected spoon and Kuksa carver, who will take you through the use of three main tools used for hand carving wooden spoons from green wood. He will introduce you to Axe and knife tecniques that will help you onto your next step. This is a one day course offered for the more experienced, aspiring green wood spoon carver. All tools and wood needed for this course are supplied.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking adjacent to Broadway farm or at Lyndale.
DIRECTIONS.
1. From Exeter head on down the A38 and take turning for the A380 direction Newton Abbot. Head for town centre and any signpost for Totnes and the A381. You're looking for the Totnes road A381.
Head on down the A381, direction Ipplepen. Ipplepen turning is after Daignton Golf course and Fermoys. Turn off A381 onto Foredown Road after Fermoys, direction Ipplepen. Go through Ipplepen and the narrow road thereafter. You will, after a few miles, find a sign for Torbryan at a Y junction, turn right. Head down the hill, the first building on right is Broadway Farm. Park here if possible, on the road, do not obstruct the gate. Travel past the farm to the first building on left, The Latches. You’ll see a little, short lane. Walk down 13 meters to the tiny wooded gate with Lyndale posted on it. You’ve arrived.
2. From Totnes head up the A381, direction Newton Abbot. At Ipplepen turn off A381 onto Foredown Road. Head toward Ipplepen. Go through Ipplepen and the narrow road thereafter. Be tick aware, and remember that you could be exposed to ticks whenever you spend time outdoors, including when in your garden or the local park

TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
PRIVACY.
Here at SpoonCarvingFirstSteps we take your privacy seriously, and will only use your personal data for the purposes of course bookings and to provide any information you have requested from us. We will not contact you with details of future courses. We will not pass your details on to any third parties. You may contact us for future course information, if you wish.
GENERAL.
These terms & conditions form the basis of the contract between SpoonCarvingFirstSteps. Known as S.C.F.S By placing a booking with SpoonCarvingFirstSteps the client verifies that they are over 18 years of age and agree with the terms and conditions described below.
DESCRIPTION of COURSES.
All descriptions are correct and applicable at the point of sale. SpoonCarvingFirstSteps accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or injury resulting from misuse of tools.
COURSE BOOKINGS.
Please note these course terms and conditions are in addition to the terms and conditions outlined above. The course terms and conditions continue to form the basis of the contract between S.C.F.S. and the client.
Course participants must be over 18 years of age. Course participants must have a reasonable standard of general fitness. S.C.F.S. cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred as a result of failure of clients to disclose medical conditions.
BOOKING AND PAYMENT.
1. Booking will be confirmed on receipt of full payment.
2. A contract is entered into with the person who is attending the course upon confirmation of the booking, this booking is non transferable. Courses may not be re-sold or transferred to others in any manner. No refund for non attendance.
CANCELLATION AND ALTERATIONS BY S.C.F.S.
While SpoonCarvingFirstSteps will make every effort to run the courses as scheduled there may be circumstances (e.g. extreme weather conditions/ ill health) when we are forced to cancel a course. In these circumstances, a full refund will be given, or an alternative date will be offered.
CLIENT CONDUCT.
1. S.C.F.S. expects its clients to behave in a safe and reasonable manner throughout the course.
2. No illegal drugs are permitted, and clients must not be intoxicated at any time during the course.
3. Clients are responsible for bringing adequate clothing and equipment to the course, as per the Kit List.
4. No fires are to be lit without the express consent of the Instructors, and fires must not be left unattended at any time.
5. Clients are responsible for any equipment issued to them during the course, and will be liable for loss or breakage.

INSURANCE AND LIABILITY.
1. SpoonCarvingFirstSteps has £5,000,000 of Public Liability Insurance and £5,000,000 Products Liability Insurance with a reputable Outdoors Activities insurer; a copy of the Insurance Certificate can be provided on request.
2. S.C.F.S. cannot be held responsible for any losses or damage to clients' personal belongings, clothing, money or vehicles.
3. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that they at arrive at the designated meeting point in a timely manner in order to be able to join the course.
4. Personal insurance may be an option if required.
5. S.C.F.S. will not be responsible for any accidents or mishaps occurring to third parties taught by attendees of any S.C.F.S. course.
COMPLAINTS.
Any Complaints should be directed in the first instance to the Instructor (Jon Mac) during the course, so that the issues can be resolved at the time. Any complaints that arise after the end of the course must be put in writing to S.C.F.S. within 28 days of the end of the course. S.C.F.S. will not be liable for in respect of any complaints received after this time.
OTHER. No dogs allowed on site.
PHOTOGRAPHY.
The Client agrees that any photographs/moving images taken by the Instructors, during the course may be used by S.C.F.S. in promotional material, either printed or on the Internet.
