Join artist Emma Neuberg for a paint performance inspired by her recent trip to LA

Spray On is Emma&#x27;s first public performance piece created exclusively for Open Studios 2022 at Kingsgate Project Space. It explores a new direction for the artist galvanized by an Art Fellowship with the Speranza Foundation in Los Angeles, USA. For two years, she worked alongside American fellows, choreographers, dancers, visual artists, playwrights, actors, poets, photographers, environmentalists, sportsmen and cinematographers to create new works, share ideas and articulate new hybrids. This took place on Zoom during the extended international lockdowns and afforded a unique opportunity to experiment, dare, think and develop. It was during this time and within this community that the artist first developed her idea of choreography in paint where paint acts as an unpredictable yet permanent formation of the artist’s body, movement, paralysis and thought on any particular day.

Having previously exhibited with EQ Nicholson, Tim Nicholson and Ben Nicholson, pattern, harmony, discord and arrangement are additional defining motifs in her work.
Emma Neuberg is a British-French artist and Textiles Hub London founder and director. She is a supervisor in Textiles Research at the Royal College of Art, Russell Group and University of the Arts London. She has had four solo shows in the UK and since 2010 has taught Digital Pattern Design at the Victoria &amp; Albert Museum’s Sackler Centre.

This event forms part of Kingsgate Workshops Summer Open Studios and will be held in the Project Space.
