Spring Birding Support - ECOS Centre
Join our free field session to help increase your confidence in your birdwatching and try out survey skills.
Join us at the ECOS Centre for a walk that aims to help you feel more confident with bird identification and/or survey skills, whether you’ve done some surveys before or you are yet to give your first survey a go.
The session will involve enjoying some relaxed birdwatching together as we walk through the grounds, with the opportunity to try out the Breeding Bird Survey methodology along the way too.
Why take part in our Spring Birding Support scheme?
- Maybe you'd enjoy getting out into nature with others in a small group, and learning about our wonderful birds and how to identify them from others.
- Maybe you're looking to open doors to more employment opportunities in the conservation sector. Bird identification and survey experience are highly sought after in conservation. We want to provide more opportunities to access training in these skills.
- Maybe you feel nearly ready to have a go at a bird survey, like the Breeding Bird Survey, but would like to give it a go in a low pressure environment first to build your confidence.
- Maybe you're already doing some bird surveys, and you would like to meet other surveyors to answer your questions and boost your confidence in any details of the surveys.
Whatever your motivations, we want to facilitate birdwatching learning for all levels of interest and experience, whether you've recently started birdwatching or you're a long-time enthusiast. So join us!
The sessions will be lead by Jemma, Nia or Esther - you can click on each name to see them saying hello.
There is the possibility that the event may be rescheduled by a day or two either side of the advertised date if the weather is not suitable on the chosen date. Those with bookings will be contacted directly to discuss this possibility closer to the time.
