Step into the hedgerows and woodlands with the first signs of spring and discover the abundance and excitement of wild edibles in our ‘Introduction to Foraging’
This session, led by forager chef, Tee Christie, is relaxed and informative, designed for beginners and the simply curious.
Tee,a chef for over 3 decades, and professional forager, combines her knowledge of both disciplines to create ‘feral food’ with a difference!
You’ll learn how to safely identify, harvest, and use a selection of edible wild plants, with a strong emphasis on seasonality, sustainability, and respect for the land.
What you’ll learn:
• The fundamentals of safe and ethical foraging
• How to identify key edible and useful plants in early spring.
• Practical tips for harvesting, storing, and using wild foods
• An introduction to the folklore and traditional uses of native plants
The day combines a gentle guided walk, with hands-on learning, and time for questions and discussion.
Along the way you will have the opportunity to taste homemade creations showcasing wild food, as well as sampling from the hedgerow!
