Spring foraging guided walk

Spring foraging guided walk

Overview

Get ready to explore the hidden treasures of nature with our Spring foraging guided walk, where you'll uncover the secrets of the wild!

Come and join a fun and informative like minded group on an ID foraging walk through the beautiful Sussex country side. An amble more than a hike, paying close attention to all that grows at our feet, or even up in the trees.

Immerse yourself in Nature, slow down and atune yourself to a pace of life that is the essence of being truly human...

I will show you how to ID wild edible plants safely and the plants to definitely avoid! We will look at recipe ideas, discuss the medicinal properties of plants we find, and little gems of information that have been passed down through folklore.

We will finish up with delicious wild plant snacks (which I'll make in advance) - all things that we're likely to find during our forage and maybe some other yummy foraged ingredients from throughout the foraging calendar.

Bring water to drink and wear suitable clothing - it's impossible to predict what the weather will bring but let's hope for dry!

Bring a small container to collect some specimens to take home, but do note this isn't a "fill your basket" event! It's more about learning how to ID plants and gain precious knowledge for your own future foraging.

Stanmer Park is vast and covers all kinds of terrain however we will mainly be walking through fields and woodland.

There are a few nice cafes and eating places in the park so you can have a nice lunch afterwards if you fancy.

Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome. Children under 12 go free.

I am a verified forager and proud member of The Association of Foragers.

Have a look at my website below, where you can see some of the amazing recent walks and forays, and a gallery of all the wild edible plants and fungi you might find! (Link on website to my instagram account too)
