Nostalgic fun in a stunning setting.

Join us at Scotland's biggest and only working watermill, set in a stunning lade valley, for a brilliant family day out.
Inside, take part in a family 'mousehunt' and experience the newly restored wooden gears and great millstones grinding. While outside join the festive fun, with face painting and traditional summer fete games and races, including**:

  • walk the plank
  • bash the rat
  • rubbing trail
  • egg & spoon and sack races


Artisan food and crafts.

Alongside all the fun and games, we're delighted to welcome some of Angus' finest crafters, bakers and foodies, including***:

Please note: entrance ticket includes free entry to the mill, races and games.

There's an additional parking charge for non-NTS members.

Face painting, and food, refreshments & craft purchases will be charged seperately.

Frequently asked questions

How much is parking?

Parking is £5 per car - Free for members of the National Trust for Scotland.

When will races and games be running?

We'll publish a full programme on Eventbrite in the days leading up to the event*. However, we'll spread and repeat activities throughout the day so that people can arrive at any time.

Is this for families only?

Absolutely everybody is welcome - races and games are aimed at the younger audience but there will be lots of great food, crafts and a chance to see the mill fully operating for everyone.
