Overview

Come and join me for a fun day learning how to create a beautiful spring solstice goddes sculpture for your garden and home.

Spring Solstice Goddess Pottery Workshop

Hello,
My name is Helen McCormick, and I’m a local ceramic artist and qualified art and design teacher. I’ve been working with clay for over 28 years and love sharing my passion and experience with others.

To celebrate the Spring Solstice, this workshop invites you to create your own Spring Goddess sculpture from stoneware clay. I’ll guide you through traditional hand-building techniques to shape your figure and add beautiful floral and natural details that capture the spirit of the season. No experience necessary — just come ready to relax, create, and enjoy.

Your finished sculpture will be left unglazed, allowing it to age naturally in your garden and blend with the elements over time.

All materials and equipment are provided. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day — please bring a packed lunch, an apron, and wear old clothes if possible.

There is FREE parking at the Walronds (access via Shortlands Lane, just before the fire station on Tiverton Road). Here’s the Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/kWveqzWFX3eh2uQi9

After the workshop, I’ll take your sculpture home to be fired in my kiln. It will be ready to collect approximately six weeks later from the Walronds — I’ll be in touch with details once they’re ready.

Please note: I can store your work for up to six months after the collection date, after which any uncollected pieces will be donated to charity.
