Springer Nature Hack Day: Advancing discovery with published research data

The event is organised by theScientific Dataand SciGraph teams, within Springer Nature.Scientific Datais a peer-reviewed, open-access journal for descriptions of research datasets. We aim to promote wider data sharing and reuse, and to credit those that share.SciGraph is a Linked Open Data offering which aggregates data sources from Springer Nature and key partners from the scholarly domain. The Linked Open Data platform collates information from across the research landscape, for example funders, research projects, conferences, affiliations and publications.Springer Nature is an academic publisher of high impact scientific information in print and online.

Springer Nature's second hack day will bring together developers and international researchers to build and use tools to advance data sharing, reuse and discovery. 
This day offers a unique chance to engage with a diverse group of researchers and developers (from organisations such as Springer Nature, Alan Turing Institute and DataCite) and take advantage of a variety of closed, proprietary and open data sources for the exploration, combining and mining of scholarly research, researcher datasets and related metadata. 
Whether you already have a team in mind, or are looking to join an established team, this is your chance to be part of a highly skilled and knowledgable group and participate in a fun day solving  problems (big or small) related to linking, discovering, and understanding research data.
Participating teams will be encouraged to focus their efforts on three main areas:

Participants are also welcome to propose specific themes, challenges and data sources ahead of the event.
