The Squirrels Go Nuts Fun Day will take place on Saturday 23 rd September 2023 and shall runbetween 10am - 3:00pm at Butchers Coppice Activity Centre. It will cost £15 per Squirrel Scout.

Each participant and leader shall receive a special Squirrels Go Nuts badge. There will a range of activities for your group to partake in and experience throughout the day.Each group will be guaranteed to be programmed onto one (hopefully two of the onsite activitieswhich will include High Rigging (climbing), Cavebus, Bushcraft or Nerf Guns in the ShootingRange.

There shall then be a Fun Zone which will consist of a range of fun filled activities, such as aselection of bouncy castles/inflatables, access to the Wildlife Garden, Trampolines, Agility Trailand Adventure Playground.

And a Target Sport Zone with Soft Tomahawks, Soft Archery, Quick Cricket and Lawn Darts.Please note that Leaders shall need to assist their group on the activities within the Fun Zoneand Target Sport Zone.

Groups can start to arrive to site from 9:00am and we ask that everyone is onsite by 9:45am,ready for 10:00am when the event shall officially start.

There shall be a check in point on the main field and we ask that just the main contact/leaderfrom each group comes to check in to make it easier. If parents are dropping off/meeting groupleaders on site, we advise that you do so on the main field by the amenities block.

10:15 – 11:45 – Activities (3 x 30 minutes)

11:45 – 12:30 – Packed Lunch

12:30 – 14:00 – Activities (3 x 30 minutes)

14:00 – 14:45 – Magic show

15:00 – Squirrel Collection

Food and RefreshmentsWe shall provide tea/coffee facilities for all attending leaders/parents in the Explorer Centreonsite.

There shall be a lunch break between 11:45-12:30pm for groups to have a rest. There shall beno catering provided during the event, so please bring along your own lunch. There is also drinking water available on site, for participants to fill up their own bottles.

Terms and conditions Participants have to have attendance booked in advance and cannot just turn up on theday, due to the programme layout and staffing having to be confirmed before the eventstarts. This event is open to all Dorset Scouts Squirrel Dreys. All young participants/groups must be in groups of a maximum of 8, with 2 leaders tomeet the 1:4 outdoor ratio. Booking are made through Eventbrite with full payment being due at the time of bookingbeing made. Refunds cannot be issued once a booking has been confirmed. Specific event details shall be sent to the Squirrel Scout Leader/GSL of each Drey a fewweeks before the event takes place. All participants and spectators of the event must respect and adhere to the instructionsand directions given by the event organisers/instructors. Groups must make appropriate arrangements to travel. There is limited parking atButchers Coppice, so we encourage all groups to car share as much as possible. Wehope to be able to give leaders access to parking on the main field.

Event Waiver Groups understand that both photographic and video footage will be taken during theevent and shall be used by Dorset Scouts on social media, the Dorset Scouts websiteand future advertising materials such as leaflets and posters. We shall provide some wet weather shelters and a dining area will be available forlunchtime but these will be limited. Groups are encouraged to bring along their own popup shelters, if you wish.

Kit List Packed Lunch Appropriate shoes – for any young people or leaders taking part in activities we willrequire closed toed shoes for all activities. Weather appropriate clothing – please ensure the young people plan in advance for theday with appropriate clothing taking into account the weather forecast. This could meanwaterproofs or a sun hat. Drinks – Please encourage your young people to bring a water bottle with them, thesecan be refilled from any of the taps around site. There will also be squash available fromthe Explorer Centre as will Tea and Coffee for leaders.

Please book the number of tickets required for youth members at one time.

You do not need to include the number of adults in the booking.
