St Albans Support Group
Overview
We would love to welcome you to our in-person monthly support group in St Albans!
We are also pleased to have our Lending SPACE team coming with lots of equipment ready to borrow!
Our support group is open to all parents/carers/families who are raising children and young people with neurodiverse conditions including autism and ADHD.
Your child/young person does not need a diagnosis in order for you to access our groups, and the support group is FREE to attend.
Booking is not essential but if you do book a place via Eventbrite it helps us to anticipate numbers.
SPACE staff, Mel and Suzie will be ready and waiting to welcome you alongside our guest speaker:-
A parents journey, with Jane Franklin about her journey with her son James.
'18 Summer holidays, 18 years to grow’ was born out of the two weeks every year when I had enough head space to write my thoughts and feelings about my wonderful but challenging son with autism. When James started to contribute too, our summer chats somehow evolved into our book.
Although I am now an Advisory Teacher, the biggest and most important role I have had to date has been parenting James. I would love to tell you a little about our journey, to read a few extracts from the book and to tell you what else has happened in the last 12 years now that James is 30.
We are a friendly, knowledgeable and supportive team, and the SPACE staff are all SEN parents ourselves, so we really do understand the high's and lows of raising children with neuro-developmental differences.
Teas, coffees and biscuits are all provided!
**Please note - we cannot accommodate children at this support group. Email events@spaceherts.org.uk if you have any questions**
