About this event

UPCOMING SPECIAL SESSIONS (all at normal session times)

Saturday 27th April - City Nature Challenge! We will be identifying as many species as possible using the INaturalist app (download if you can in advance - optional) as part of Nottingham's participation in this International Challenge!

Saturday 11th May - Get Involved Fair Join us for a volunteer 'session in a session' where we will move to the Community Orchard, and get busy making wildlife habitat features plus a bit of gardening, within an event promotion our volunteering and other activities at the same time!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This session is for volunteers both familiar with STAA and those who are completely new. Come along to help us regularly, just this once, or to try something out! *

These sessions area a regular Saturday wildlife volunteering on Urban Nature (2nd and 4th Saturdays each month), where we will come together as a team to manage our wildlife areas, and learn about the technique and theory while we are doing it.

Expect a mix of woodland, wetland and grassland tasks - everything from pruning, sawing, digging, building, bramble bashing, tree felling, step building, weeding, planting, and building! There are always a mix of tasks to choose from each session.

Suitable for all skills and abilities: the session is practical and will focus on improving the habitat of the wildlife areas. You will be given all tools and information you need (though feel free to bring your own gloves if you like).

Meet at Ransom Road entrance for 10am.

Booking is essential, and the gate is locked on Saturdays, so please be aware we may miss any latecomers.

Any questions, please email us at volunteer@staa-allotments.org.uk

* We provide inductions for volunteers to attend to learn all about STAA and our volunteering programme - if you like the session, and hope to return, we will ask you attend an induction within roughly the first 3 sessions. Our volunteer sessions are currently for 18+ (16-18 year olds by arrangement).
